Here is my artist statement.

Connect to the totality

I used a homemade giant kaleidoscope and footage from nature as the creative tool for the work. The central ethos of the kaleidoscope is akin to nature’s dynamic structure, resulting in similar patterns and principles established on molecular and atomic levels. Simulating the eradication of boundaries, a continuum unfolding within itself, adjoining to a forever unreachable proximity representing the kinetic cosmic chain of being.

The visionary patterned work speaks the language in which the universe is written; nature’s infinite self reference statement, creating a radical vision, a larger universal reality of which we are a part of, an unbroken thread that stretches from the first cells to us. Marrying science with a realising of a transcendent state of oneness.

We are infinitely connected on an immeasurable scale, the dimensions of interconnectedness are without end. There is nothing independent.

Life constantly changes like the turning of a kaleidoscope

Sometimes the shape perfectly align

Though more often than not skewed

Twisting and shifting with every passing day

The dulled colours bombarding the eyes

When the shapes tumble into place, one’s heart opens

The dulled colours become vivacious and brilliant

The patterns cause us the be blinded by the open heart’s desire

Life is so grand when the focus is cleared

After the constant turning of the day, the shape break away

Trying to reverse the inevitable only causes confusion

The dulled colours return falling on once blinded eyes

The radiant colours will return

The shapes will fall in place once more

One never knows who’s sun their heart’s kaleidoscope will point towards
